Oh…please don’t mind the smell! A special stew is boiling inside my cauldron, and its filled with nutritious ingredients which I plucked from my garden: earth worms, earwigs, 3 frogs, a strange mushroom, spider web strings, and a unique, red nightshade—the tomato. Shhh…they say the tomato is a harmless vegetable, but once upon a time, people used to believe that if you bit into a tomato, well, you’d drop dead. My stew is done. So…do you want a taste?

Tomato witch I saw.
Hop and skip she goes.
Wiggling and wobbling her stomach moves;
Filled with young little naughty girls;
Waiting to be devoured.
Like one of old grandma’s broths.
Gurgling away in the laundry copper trough.
Made of tomatoes, and who knows what.
Lambs brains, oxen tongue, and pigs trots’.
Eye of owl
and jowl of newt,
add tomato juice
makes a lovely
remnants of your sleep
So it’s not too disgusting, but it’s practical —
Pour in vodka
if you dare,
but not too much —
do not err! —
because the idea
is to wake,
not sleep again
for Satan’s sake!
Lovely! Sharp knife slices through the fresh tomato’s skin and goes deeper. I smile. So fresh, so beautiful! Delightful red tomato. I cut few more and out in into a cauldron. Now it is time for other ingredients: basil, sage…, some tears of a virgin, snake’s poison and of course, my favorite, heart of a baby that I kidnapped! I am a witch after all! Now I will be young again! Beautiful and fresh, as were those tomatoes.
First I crushes the tomato.
Next I adds two drops of the dragon’s blood.
Then the man drinks the brew.
His loins are like tree.
Tomato witch leaves in her wake,
a burnt down block of flats,
with bodies dead but intact.
Thriving in the charcoal,
the plump fruit lives.
Racing to finish her concoction, the witch threw in the tomato-shaped hearts, strawberry flavored tongues, and zucchini green cocks. She won’t be chopped.
