Put daggers in my heart and twist knives into my spine,
rip my skin away from the flesh,
and drain my blood, drop by drop.
Cut me into two halves, and then cut those halves further.
Take my eyes away.
Discard them on your way home.
Roast my flesh in a fiery rage.
Fill my soul with hatred—cage it, control it, confine it, and give me away to the lust of hell.
And tell me now—does that help you get over me?
This is to all those who think they can inflict pain upon the ones they love, to avenge the pain that was caused to them. The opposite of love is not hate, it is apathy. You don’t hate the person you once loved, and no matter how hard you try, their pain will never soothe yours. Anger and resentment are dangerous things, as much as they destroy others, they destroy us, too. Forgive; you’ll sleep better.
